A response to the needs of supplement and functional food manufacturers

Manufacturers of dietary supplements and functional foods are increasingly looking for probiotic raw materials that not only demonstrate proven efficacy, but above all survive the entire chain — from the manufacturing process, through storage, to passage through the consumer’s digestive tract. In response to this demand, AGREMA is introducing an expanded line of enhanced-stability probiotic strains, covering the genera Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and companion strains such as Lactococcus lactis and Streptococcus thermophilus.

Confirmed tolerance to gastrointestinal conditions

A key challenge for probiotics used in supplementation is surviving exposure to gastric acid and bile. Tolerance studies conducted for our strains recorded cell viability at the following levels:

  • 85–90% after 2 hours of exposure to a pH 3.0 environment (including Lactobacillus casei LC11, Lactobacillus plantarum LP11, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR11),
  • 75–90% in the presence of 0.3% bile over the same period.

These results mean that a significant share of the bacterial population reaches the intestine alive and active — which translates directly into the efficacy of the final product.

Stability confirmed by an independent study

The stability of our probiotics is not based solely on the manufacturer’s declaration. An independent study carried out by the National Medicines Institute in Warsaw confirmed that the number of live cells matched the declared specification (1.0 x 10¹¹ cfu/g) after the sample’s storage period. Our probiotics retain their declared activity for 24 months from the production date, at above-zero temperatures — without the need to maintain an uninterrupted cold chain, which significantly simplifies logistics and storage on the client’s side.

Full quality documentation

Each strain is supplied with a complete set of documentation confirming compliance with EU requirements, including tests for heavy metals, microbiology (including the absence of Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, Staphylococcus aureus), absence of allergens, absence of pesticide and solvent residues, and GMO-free status.

Available forms and packaging

We mainly offer probiotics in powder form, with the option of delivery in encapsulated form or in sachets — in 1 kg, 5 kg and 20 kg packaging. The list of available strains is regularly expanded; if you are looking for a specific type of probiotic bacteria, we encourage you to contact us directly.
